During these trying times, Independent day and boarding schools are under tremendous pressure to continue virtual learning and further boost morale within their school and local communities. Over the last couple of weeks, the private school community has driven creative and innovative ways to give back to those who are key workers during this time and private school St Peter's York is no exception.

St Peter's York, its students and factulty, have donated 6,500 pieces of personal protection equipment from their own science department as well as from donations from students and parents. The donation includes the following:

  • Four infection protection kits (complete with mask, visor, coverall, gloves, shoe covers, tape and a waste bag)
  • 48 filtering facepieces
  • 626 surgical face masks
  • 150 pieces of eye protection (goggles and glasses)
  • 5,500 latex free gloves
  • 350 disposable aprons
  • 25 disposable decorators coveralls

After this incredible donation, Jeremy Walker, Head Master of St Peter's School, stated:

“I am so pleased that we have been able to donate these essential items to support our local healthcare workers, who are putting in a huge amount of effort to keep us all safe and well. I am grateful to everyone for making these available for us to share at this important time.”
