There is nothing more gratifying and heartwarming than to see the students we have helped place in schools achieve success, whether this be personal success or academic success in the form of exam results. On Sunday 6th July thousands of students across the world got the IB Diploma results – the culmination of two years of learning, hard work and dedication.
Each year, Education Advisers are proud to help many excellent students secure places at the UK’s top IB schools, such as Sevenoaks, Haileybury, Wellington College, Cheltenham Ladies’ College, Bromsgrove and Ardingly.
We are therefore delighted to see that these, and many other exceptional schools, are posting outstanding results again this year. Overall, the average score obtained by students in the UK this year is 35 out of a possible 45 points, whereas the world average is just 30.58. This is a wonderful testament to the academic rigour and excellent education provided by British schools, and we applaud their continued success.
Sevenoaks School has one of the largest cohorts of IB Diploma students in the UK and the average score obtained by the 245 students taking the exam this year was 39.1 with 11 students obtaining a full score of 45.
Haileybury has announced an excellent average score of 36.9, with 19 students scoring over 40 points, and at Ardingly College, students achieved an average score of 39.8, this highest ever for a non-Covid year.
Wellington College is celebrating an average score of 38.7 this year with one of its largest ever cohorts of students.
The IB cohort at Royal High School in Bath achieved a fantastic average score of 40.1 points, and at Cheltenham Ladies’ College the average score was 38.6.
As more schools publish their results we look forward to hearing of their successes and we wish all graduating students the very best for their futures. Whatever their numerical scores, students who have studied the IB Diploma course will be wonderfully equipped with a range of academic, social and life skills that will stand them in good stead for whatever the next chapter may bring.
Education Advisers publish comprehensive league tables of independent IB schools on our website IB-schools.com, and these will be updated when results have been collated and verified.
