179,000 people recently signed an online petition calling for secondary schools to start at 10.00 because "teenagers are so tired due to having to wake up very early to get to school." 

The government is set to debate the issue on 11 February.

There have been scientific studies suggesting that students are likely to be far more productive if they start school later, and some schools, such as Hampton Court House in London, have already introduced a different timetable for 6th Formers, which they claim allows young people to make the best use of the 168 hours available to them each week.
